David O'Reilly Does U2

Here's David O'Reilly's new video for U2. I think O'Reilly's done some of the most innovative and exciting work in animation the past few years. A winning combination of truely individually style and clever narrative are a very difficult thing to find all in one person.
As a little aside, I will be going to see him talk at BUG this Friday at the BFI, my stopframe video for We Have Band will also be shown that evening! VERY exciting.

Nez

Nez's new promo for Kid Cudi (feat. Kanye West and Lady Gaga) has been knocking around the Colonel Blimp office for the past week; desperate to break out, and now it's loose!
Nez has really raised the bar with this one. Friggin' awesome.

OWLS

On the same note as Marco Brambilla's Civilization which I posted this time last week, this offering from Sportsday Megaphone/OWLS is pretty nifty. Beautifully complex.

Chris Packham References The Smiths

Dear god, this is actual genius. THIS is what we pay our license fee for, it just gets better and better. Obviously, if you're not a fan of The Smiths this may be lost on you a bit, but otherwise sit back and enjoy!

Massive thanks to Rhys Jones for sending me this one.

Fox Update

A while ago I went to the set of Wes Anderson's first animated feature "Fantastic Mr Fox". I was super excited to be on a set of a Wes Anderson film, let alone see an animation set on that scale!
Well, the first few stills have appeared online, so here's a little glimpse of the cuteness that awaits us all in October! Wooop!

Voltaic

Last week I treated myself to the 3 vinyl, 2 CD, 2 DVD package of Bjork's newest musical offering "Voltaic".
As anyone who caught her live during her 2007/08 Volta tour, Bjork was on top form in the live arena - a stunning voice, and a roller coaster of a live show - jumping from heartbreaking ballads to stomping renditions of her dance-orientated hits.
Voltaic captures every angle of this tour beautifully, but mainly focuses on how much Bjork reworks her songs for a live interpretation. The vinyl version can be got for a bargain £35 on Amazon at the moment (it really is a bargain considering what you get), so snap it up now before the offer runs out/Amazon realize their mistake (rrp = £60!!!)
