Extra Hour
Today the clocks changed, and with my extra hour I chose to spend it watching bad Nirvana covers on YouTube.
Words can not describe.

Anthony Dickenson
As I mentioned in my interview with It's Nice That yesterday, I can't believe this guy didn't win Best New Director at the UK MVAs. I feel REALLY guilty.
This is just awesome...

FILE
The Moray McLaren video PLUS a little piece I've written to accompany the video are both featured in the Autumn/Winter Issue of FILE DVD Magazine.
Created by one half of the team that brought us the ground-breaking Specialten, I am super chuffed to have made it into this magazine. Especially as it has a super hot photo of Brigitte Bardot on the front.

BBC 6 Music Interview
CLICK HERE to listen to me and James Bretton talking to BBC 6 Music's Danny Wallace talking about the promo for Moray McLaren - We Got Time.
(Interview starts at 2hrs 16min into the show)

BBC 6 Music
Today I am polishing my praxinoscopes and am off to see Danny Wallace at BBC 6 Music to have a chat about the music video I created earlier this year for Moray McLaren "We Got Time".
I don't know exactly what time I'll be on, but Danny's show runs from 13:00-16:00 (he's standing in for Cerys Matthews at the moment).
If you feel like listening in on a DAB Digital Radio, or online that'd be really nice. Otherwise, it'll be on the fabulous BBC iPlayer soon after the show's finished, and I'll be sure to post up a link.
To say I'm excited would be an massive understatement.

EARTHQUAKE!!!
My new Little Boots promo for "Earthquake"...
NB. Please pay particular attention to the second verse where we've created a stroboscopic effect by synchronizing the frame rate of the camera to that of dripping stream of water. Each droplet is unique, but has been captured in mid-air with such precision that it gives the impression of a single droplets being held mid flight. This effect was not created through stop-motion animation techniques, or through computer trickery, but was matched live on set with a camera turning over at 12 frames per second in order to allow the artist to lip-sync and interact with the water in real time.
And I'm really proud of it :-)
Director - David Wilson
Producer - Tamsin Glasson
Production Company - Colonel Blimp
Commisioned by Tim Nash at Atlantic / 679
Director of Photography - Will Bex
Art Direction - Emma Roach
Styling - Steven Westgarth
Water-Droplet Effects - Complete Fabrication
Telecine - Aubrey Woodiwiss
Flame Artist - Judy Roberts at Munky
After Effects Artist - Christopher Bristow at Munky

'Boards Front Cover
Here's the front cover I designed for the new 'Boards magazine (September/October '09 Issue).
It's mainly a US publication, but you can buy it in some of the larger bookstores in most city centers in the UK.
I'm really chuffed to get a front cover. Thanks 'Boards!!

Ian Wright
Ian Wright has just done a lecture for It's Nice That.
Ian was a HUGE inspiration to me as a student. He was my final year tutor, and really encouraged me to push my work. I've got a lot to thank him for.
I recommend you set aside 30mins at some point in your day, maybe even this restful Sunday evening, and enjoy this short talk and his work...

Remix = Credits
Bizarrely, two of the best recent promos I've seen are for remixes, and both of them play on the concept of music playing with credits at the end of a movie...
IT'S TIME FOR A FACE-OFF!!!
Keith Schofield's promo for Justice and Lenny Kravtiz...
VS
The Sound of Arrows "Into The Clouds" (Fear of Tigers Remix). Directed by The Sound of Arrows and Mattias Johansson
Winner = ARGH! I just can't decide!! The Sound of Arrows is SO cute, but then Keith Schofield's is really clever, but then The Sound of Arrows is excecuted better (but then I have a slight incling it may be created by piecing together stock footage), but then someone gets shot IN THE HEAD at the beginning of the Justic video!
DON'T MAKE ME CHOOSE!!!!

Worried Shoes
LOVE this song at the moment. Can't actually WAIT for this movie, and I'm saddened by the news that the October 16th release date is only in the US now (WTF!!!) and the UK has to wait until December.
Karen O's cover of Daniel Johnston's "Worried Shoes".
Enjoy.

Licky Long-Time
New video for Depeche Mode, directed by Eric Wareheim.
The whole video takes a twist in the second verse, and goes from being ok to super amazing!
Enjoy
