I'm in love with his magazine cover for Little White Lies this month.

I saw a poster for it in central London yesterday and nearly ripped it off the wall.

It reminds me, back when I was a student my university trip was to San Francisco. I couldn't afford to go, but the class went and met Michael Gillette. Someone recorded the hour-long interview on a camcorder, and I've totally got a copy of the tape on DVD somewhere. I used to watch it repeatedly back in the day.

Benga VS Kristofer Strom

Blinkink have started a groundbreaking collaboration with Tempa Records, and here's the first fruit of their labour.

Kristopher Strom (of Minilogue's "Hitchhicker's Choice" fame) has been placed with dubstep superstar Benga to create a visual accompaniment to "Baltimore Clap".

Behold their twisted love child!!!

All My Best Friends...

Tonight is the next installment in Art Is Proof's continually brilliant screen printing exhibitions.

This is ripped from their events page on Facebook because I'm lazy...

A pop up shop and gallery of affordable art, screen prints, books, zines and more from a selection of our favourite independent illustrators, designers and makers, curated by the Art is Proof Press. Featuring work by Mark Pavey, William Exley, Leah Stewart, Charlie Duck, Hannah Waldron, Andy Forshaw, It's Nice That, Owen Richards, Jiggery Pokery, Jess Bonham, DIY Couture, Fever Zine, Shebang, Francesca Bunny Williams, We Are The Friction, Sally Hancox, Chloe Bell, Sarah King, and more!

The Art is Proof Press is a small collective of designers and illustrators. For the past two years we've put on annual exhibitions of screen printing and print sales, and this time we're getting all our favourite creatives together for an ace show in a brand new venue.
We're taking over Superette, a new exhibition and events space just off Brick Lane in the heart of East London for 2 weeks. Run by Leona Baker, we're excited to be the very first people invited to host a show in the new Superette!

Come on down to our opening night on Thursday 18th March 7-9pm for drinks, music and nice things to look at (and buy!)

We're cranking up the tunes and putting our meshes where our mouths are as we get ready for Pacer's debut London gig at Everything Sucks. Find out how to start screen printing and print your own Pacer poster or T shirt before the gig at South Of The Border on Old St. Attendance to this event is free, but be sure to arrive by 7pm sharp for the workshop.

Sunday 28th March 11am-6pm: Sunday Sale
-Always the type to go out with a bang, we've asked Francesca Bunny Williams to bring her Wonderleague shop to London for one day only to finish our residency at Superette. Bunny's bringing her amazing mix of trading cards, zines, badges, and other deadstock delights all the way from the South Coast straight to the East End just for you! Free tea and coffee all day so come on down and say hello!

Exhibition and pop-up shop open 19th-28th March, weekdays 12-6pm, weekends 11am-6pm.

Samantha Beeson

This has been spread ALL around the design community this week.

Samantha Beeson (a recent graduate from Falmouth University) has just become the design community has a new poster child of hatred. Plagiarism in its most extreme; her degree portfolio was found to be created almost entirely from other illustrators work (such as Lauren Nassef, but also my friend Jez Burrows). Having passed it off as her own, she went on to win a huge award from Textprint for pattern designs filled with Lauren Nassef's drawings. She even made a fake sketchbook with many of Lauren's drawings traced or pasted in.

It is simple cut and paste, and when viewing this girls work against the illustrators she stole from, her actions are just sickening.

On the very rare occassions when a head falls inbetween these two catagories, we will charge £4.50 - for a MEDIUM-SIZED head.

Mark Pavey is doing some great things at the moment. Not only does he produce some super awesome design work (like the print displayed below), he's also making some kick-ass websites.
It's so difficult to find someone with a good design sensibility, and the knowledge to build a website well.

A new wing of Blink Productions has had its doors open for a few months now, and it's just opened its welcoming arms to yours truely - yep, I'm now represented for commercial illustration! Wooop!
Blink Art is home to a wide spectrum of image makers, most being stills and installation work from commercial directors signed to the production company.
With multi-talented signings such as Pleix, Kuba, Lynn Fox, and Carl Burgress (to name just a few), I'm really excited to see what's going to be coming out of this new venture over the coming months...
